Artist Biography
Eldon Kohler is a self-taught metalsmith and artist based in the Cleveland area. Drawing from a multi-faceted background in architectural design and industrial steel fabrication, he found an easy transition into jewelry production. His journey began in 2009 with Japanese silversmith studies known as "Kinko Metal Works." This art form helped him to appreciate a deep emphasis on nature that you will see in his work. He easily hybridized both the ancient and modern forms of silver-goldsmithing into what he does. A lover of turquoise and other colored stones, Eldon taught himself lapidary—the art of stone cutting and polishing—doing this specifically for his own productions. He is honored to have taught both adolescents and adults at several schools and studios over the years and loves to share what he’s learned.
He currently resides in Concord Twp. with his wife and three children, where he studies self-sustainability from the land. He enjoys painting, gardening, and cooking dinners for his family.
