Lori Brauer

From a young age, Lori Brauer always looked for ways to create with her hands. Painting, drawing, clay, and fibers were all part of her exploration. When she found metalsmithing, her creative world was complete. Manipulating metals is a form of meditation for her. Lori appreciates how metal can be hard and unrelenting, yet with fire, it becomes malleable and transformative. Lori enjoys working in the moment, letting intuition lead.

My practice centers on silver and gold as materials of permanence, beauty, and cultural resonance. I approach metalsmithing through a dialogue between tradition and innovation, combining hand techniques—sawing, soldering, hammering, and finishing—with digital processes such as CAD and laser cutting. This integration allows me to explore form and repetition with both precision and sensitivity, producing work that is rooted in craft yet open to contemporary expression.

Minimalism informs the foundation of my designs. Through clean lines, refined structures, and open space, I aim to distill form to its essence, creating jewelry that is timeless and contemplative. Each piece is conceived not as ornament alone, but as a vessel for meaning—an object that balances clarity and restraint with the potential for personal resonance.

My goal is to create pieces that reflect the tension and harmony between tradition and technology, logic and intuition, simplicity and significance. The resulting works are intended to invite both visual engagement and personal reflection, offering space for the wearer—and the viewer—to encounter beauty distilled to its essence.
